Discussing your photo timeline early in the planning process helps us to maximize the beautiful images we can capture. It’s important to build the day around the best natural light to ensure your day looks incredible in your wedding photos. Knowing where and when the sunset is will help us choose the best time for ceremony, sunset photos and reception.
Engagement sessions are the perfect way for us to get to know one another, and you’ll get a feel for being in front of the camera together. In the past those who have done engagement session with us are more at ease being photographed on the wedding day. Plus it is a lot of fun and give us opportunity to capture adventurous photos that might not be possible during the wedding day schedule. Your engagement session is a great day to have your trial hair and makeup done. This way you’ll take advantage of your glamours look and see how it photographs.
Your wedding day unfolds with photos of you getting ready, the details and individual portraits. The space you choose to get ready in will be the background to those images. We recommend choosing a spacious, open location with lots of natural light and a decor similar to that of your wedding. This will help insure your images flow with the rest of the day.
There are a few benefits to having a first look. First and most importantly is that it sets aside time for just the two of you. Wedding days are busy and so full of moments surrounded by your loved ones. You will look back and treasure the special time alone together on your wedding day.
We highly recommend taking the bulk of your portraits prior to the ceremony. Not only will this allow us more time to create beautiful portraits of you and those who matter to you most, but it will allow you to enjoy more of the post-ceremony festivities.
We love to style photos of the details of your wedding. These include the full paper/invitation suite with your preferred calligraphy/addressing/stamps, favor, all paper products, dress, shoes, all wedding rings, jewelry, his watch and any other details from your day that you would like photographed.
It is especially with meaningful elements that you provide. Consider family heirlooms, jewelry, ribbon, fabric and other items that can enhance your images. Please have your details together in the bridal suite where you are getting ready, this way we can get right to work capturing them when we arrive.
